Dr. Rivas is a recent addition to the Kremer Veterinary team. Born and raised in Southern California, she attended California State University, Northridge and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology and a minor in Chicano Studies. She went on to earn a doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences and then continued her training by completing a year-long multidisciplinary internship at VCA Emergency Hospital and Referral Center in San Diego. Her additional training in cardiology, radiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, and exotic medicine prepared her for practicing in sunny San Diego. As a veterinarian, she has worked hard to provide quality and compassionate care to all her patients, from the furry to the scaly. Her passions include exotic medicine, radiology, surgery and allergies.
This year, Dr. Rivas, her husband and their white fluffy dog, Bella, traveled across the country to their new home in Illinois where they then rescued the newest member of their family, Nova, the great dane. In her spare time, Dr. Rivas likes to paddleboard, walk the dogs, hike, work out or just cuddle with her dogs and hubby while watching a good show.
