Dr. Kelley Kanak began working for Animal Care Center of Plainfield in June of 2018. She has completed multiple externships with us throughout vet school and is excited to be joining the ACC team after all these years. Dr. Kanak received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign in 2014 where she graduated with honors. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Illinois in 2018. Dr. Kanak is also the recent recipient of the 2018 Dr. Edward C. Khuen Excellence in Dentistry Scholarship.
In addition to dentistry, her clinical interests in veterinary medicine also include soft tissue surgery, emergency, and shelter medicine. Dr. Kanak strives for quality medicine and exceptional care with all of her patients. She looks forward to forming long-term relationships with her clients and believes that client education is an essential aspect of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Kanak grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, specifically to Colorado during the winter months for leisurely skiing. She also enjoys working out and being active outside – playing softball, volleyball, and spending summers reading by the pool. She has a dog named Kenzie at home, who she adopted from the Bahamas as a stray just before starting her first year of veterinary school.
