Boarding is available Sunday through Saturday. While services are primarily for dogs and cats, we do board some exotics such as rabbits, guinea pigs and turtles.
What to Expect When Boarding Your Pet
When your dog is dropped off for boarding, he will receive a quick exam prior to being placed in our kennel. This helps us to maintain the healthiest, cleanest, and safest environment for our guests.
We feed our boarders a prescription gastrointestinal diet called Purina EN. Feeding time typically occurs once daily at 8am although twice-a-day feedings are available at no additional cost. While owner diets are accepted for and additional $2/daily dispensing fee, they are not preferred unless medically necessary. Owner-provided meals must be pre-measured and pre-bagged per meal to ensure proper feeding.
All blankets and food/water bowls are provided by our clinic.
Any required medications must be brought in their original containers and be accompanied by current prescription dosage. Medication administering is charged at a flat $2/day.
We require specific vaccines and tests be up to date. If necessary, we can update at check-in. Mandatory vaccinations include: Dogs • 1 or 3 year rabies • 1 year distemper/lepto combo OR current 3 year distemper plus current 1 year lepto • 6 month bordetella • stool check within the past 12 months • Canine Influenza H3N2 and Canine Influenza H3N8
Cats • 1 year rabies • 1 year distemper • negative feline leukemia test (for indoor-only cats) • 1 year feline leukemia vaccine (for outdoor cats) • stool test within the past 12 months
If your pet is seen by a different veterinarian, we will require documentation of vaccinations.
Housing for our boarders varies depending on species and size, including the following: • Small and large dogs board in our 8’Dx8’Hx3’W suites of partitioned epoxy floor runs. • All cats board in our treatment room and receive personal time with our staff whether to play or just to snuggle.
Boarding patients are housed in their assigned accommodations and are taken by our staff out to our fully fenced play yards to use the bathroom and enjoy playtime with the staff. Only dogs from teh same family are socialized together, otherwise patients are kept separate. Playtime occurs while staff sanitizes the housing, which occurs 6-8 times a day for 10-15 minutes, as the weather permits.
